The temperature and humidity. She is the sweetest broody, shes turning a year old August 5th. She has been broody since early spring then I broke her for a few days and bam right back to the nesting box. I was worried about heat stroke so I gave in and gave her 2 chicks, she is the best mom ever!

I'm sorry but this isn't possible or we wouldn't have hatcheries slaughtering millions of cockerels on a daily basis at hatch. I'm a little biased here as I love hatching boys.

I have a couple I shove as many eggs as possible under when they go broody. My last one was Momma a BCM, had 14 eggs and hatched 10.

I wish we had more land... in the country I would LOVE some roos. They are incredible! Ive watched documentaries and learned so much about them. I dont understand why people dislike them so much

I've never had a BR roo but my hens are some of the most friendly and docile of the flock. My latest hatch... one single solitary and first time mom.

That is adorable! Well, the hubby who picked this one out and named it Black Hawk said who cares if its male, we are fine until it bothers the neighbors then we can discuss it. All my girls are sweet. Unless you're a wild bird, then they devour you. Mama and the chicks actually got out the one morning with the flock and the little ones were running to me with everyone else
