I am so confused, please help! Yesterday I had 5 roosters. I had placed a free reforming add for them, since I do not have enough hens to support this many. The only reason we have this many is from Mommy chicken going broody, she hatched 4 girls and 5 boys.
Yesterday, I was able to rehome 2 of them, and then things got crazy. I should mention that before yesterday, all the roosters got along great! No fighting, no squabbles....they free range all day and sleep in the coop together every night.
An hour after the two roosters left, two that are still here started fighting. I heard them making a crazy commotion, went up the hill, and one rooster is laying on the ground making crazy noises, and the other is standing on top of him. I shooed the obvious winner away, picked up the one that was laying down, cleaned him up with poultry aid and separated him to let him rest.
A couple hours later, I returned him outside close to the coop and he charged the rooster that he had been fighting. They got in to it again, and I seperated them again. He is now locked in the coop by himself while everyone else is roaming freely. The so-called winner is now going up to the coop and will stand there a few minutes and they will act like they are fighting through the mesh. He will get board, I guess, and return to the others, but he does not get aggressive with the remaining rooster.
I don't know what to do to get them to be accepting of each other again. Please help!
