Evil black biting gnat type bugs????

We live close to the walbash river we have had tons of rain we now have these really mean black bighting blood thirsty gnat type bugs. They killed my whole flock of 2mo old chicks in two days!!! As for us we can't be outside without buggins. Any ideas

I'm so sorry. I think I've read about these. They are called Buffalo Gnats. I don't know of anything that protects against them.

that thread has some good info. This is the first year weve seen them, but they aren't that bad so far. Knock on wood
