"Stand up in front of the class, and tell us about yourself."

Well, I'm happily married (Army wife), I have three human offspring, a big Doberman, 20 RIRs, and five Americaunas.. I'm a SAHW&M, but I work my tail feathers off homeschooling, and going to Paramedic school. This is our first year raising fowl. I'm also trying like a madwoman to influence my husband to adopt some fainting pygmy silkie goats. He's not on board yet. I need me some goats..

My pullets currently live in our dining room. I'm hoping having them close by will encourage our dog to make friends ---and NOT see these feathered poop machines as snacks.

Oh, and Duck Dynasty is my favorite TV show..

from New Mexico!

So glad you could join! I used to keep goats and know how much fun they are. Be careful with the dog. Most dogs do see chickens as dinner and it needs to be trained out of them. Some dogs never do behave.

Make sure to check out the "other pets and livestock" forums for info on goats...

I think fainting goats are the neatest thing. The Sheriff (user name) on Stella's Social Club" thread has Laverne and Shirley and has often put up videos of their antics .It makes me laugh just to think about them. Oh yes, she also has loads of chickens, donkeys, and EMUS.
