Ok, I know i posted to the accepting the poop post...but that's when it's expected, even a chicken sitting on your shoulder brings expected poop. Tonight, I had my first surprise ewwy poop! I went to the coop to help the children find roosting space amongst the meany teenagers. I picked up one and thought, hmm, she's awfully warm, must be b/c she was on the bottom of the cornered pile. NOPE, POOP all over my hand!! (it was 9pm, dark out, totally yucky surprise!)

I got my new chicks out earlier this evening for a little quality time. The first two were great. The second two chicks pooped about 7 times each in 20 minutes...... [IMG]

Ewwwwww....there is nothing like the smell of a little chicken poop smushed onto your fingers  and it's really hard to get the smell off even with repeated washings. I will sometimes lean on the outside of the nest box to look into the box and lo and behold there will be a fresh plop of chicken poop right where I lean my hand!

 So far I haven't been pooped on. And trust me I hug the girls most nights after they roost. Now that I said that it will probably happen--hehe [IMG] I step in it, leaned over in it and have to scrub it off feeders so eventually I'll be pooped on. Oh what a wonderful thing I have to look forward too!!!! I just try to think of it as "used food that wasn't needed" instead of poop. [IMG]
