hi, so I really want to rescue some extra-battery hens I have sense I heard about how they are treated about a year ago. I want to re-home to Home’s that won’t kill them but I don’t know how to do it. I want to go and get them from a egg laying facility but I’ll probably end up taking all of them. Maybe I can get them from a rescue organization and re-home them that way. Any ideas?

I'm not really sure what you're asking? If you are asking how to get these hens, I know one of the big rural egg producers here sells their old birds in the fall for like 50 cents a bird. Maybe call a producer in your area and ask if they sell their old birds instead of culling them?

There is a rescue in Santa Cruz, CA that rescues battery hens. I believe they contact the facilities and pick up “worn” hens that would typically be culled after a drop in production. They also get some roosters that get sent to the facilities by accident by the hatcheries. I’d try calling industry farms that are local to you and ask what they do with hens that drop in production and if they would be willing to let you take them. or you could go through a rescue.
