My 5 weeks old are starting to fly high enough to make to hard moving them from their day time cage to their night time cage can I clip their wings at this age?????

Sure, if you want to make it so they can't fly away from predators.

I've been reading The Contrary Farmer by Gene Logson. In his chapter on keeping chickens, he says, "To catch a chicken all you need is a six foot length of stiff wire with a tight crook at one end to hook its leg with." He seems to be very knowledgeable. The book is a great read. Available for Kindle

For the little ones and all my silkies i have 2 long handled butterfly nets. Dollar store !

My grown birds just have to see the net's and go up the ramp to thier house. They are well trained.
