Excessive Mallard Hen Quack

[The Starter]

I brought in my mallard today -- drake and hen. The hen kept quacking excessively. Just asking, is this suppose to mean that she is on a verge of laying eggs just as it is in the case of chicken?

Maybe she was upset if this was different than what is normal?

My ducks never make any fuss when they lay an egg.

She was probably upset by the change in environment. Ducks like all birds hate change.
