Excited New Father!!! Needs advice!!

I fell like such a dim wit! Someone told me to use the bottles, and I have been trying like a crazy person to drill through the bottom of round bottomed bottles, never thought of the cap and doing it that way.

I didn't spend any money on feeders/waters i seen online you can use deep lid's or shallow dip containers with rubber bands over them. the chicks stand on the rubber bands and it stops them fulling in and drowning in the water.
I've had one of my chick twice get sick inside (the 2 im hand rasing) and two that where under a broody hen became sick. it was ether late or i had no money.
The first time one got attacked by it's mum and I wish i'd had antiseptic cream to put on it.
The second time the brooder was to hot and when i woke up cricket wasn't moving I'd found a online electrolyte water home made recipe but wish I'd had vitamins to put in the water from the feed store with an eye dropper or syringe to feed her water as she was so week and
The third time I found another one from out side just laying on the ground left by mum. the tempt had dropped from near 30c the week before to 17c running a round looking for a light and spret box as i want's sure what was wrong and didn't want to put it in with mine.( just in case it was contagious)
you dont need to spend heaps of money I just meant it's nice to have it just in case.

all chicks survived and are now 8wks old

Yes I'm picking up my 24 chicks around 5-6 weeks of age and they'll be outside in a weather resistant coop with a couple of 100watt bulbs. No mother hen just a brooding box :) I'll have a quarantine box inside the garage ready to go! Do you guys recommend water additives like lemon garlic and ACV I've heard it boosts immune systems, also thoughts on fermented feed vs normal chick starter?

Oh 5-6 weeks old you'll miss the cute and fluffy stage. After cricket got sick and reading about apple cider vinegar I've been putting in their water for one day each week. I also feed them scrambled eggs (with no milk or butter) The big girls outside love it to I mix it with some seed and give them a little bit on plates as a treat (they go nuts) and I cook rice a lot for myself with garlic in it and give them that too (brown rice is better) and they love it. garlic avocado and banana are good form them but I read somewhere not to much as it can go off in their crop and cores all kind of other problems. But our girls are free range in the back yard and the landlords plant all chook friendly plush green leafy veggies just for them too eat. (it's funny watching they jump up for top leafs) we only feed ours grainy chook food not palltes. I have tried fermented chicken feed it's really good for proving the good bacteria in their digestive system. if you use grains fermenting it doubles the weight and fills them up to! making it really healthy for them.
