Hello - I am a new member of BYC and have been looking around the site to get a feel of everything. I am very excited to be a part of the poultry community - BYC will be a great resource for me.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Fairly new - have had about 24 chickens now for just over a year.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
24 (more coming - to hatch in 2 weeks)
(3) What breeds do you have?
White/barred plymouth rocks, black sumatra, buff laced polish, dark cornish (she is a pet..), blue andalusian (my personal favorite hen), rhode island reds, new hampshire reds, O-Shamo and mallard duck (on egg)
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I always found very useful information on this site when searching questions on chickens
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Wood chip carving, horseback riding, gardening, hiking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live in central PA and live with my husband and Australian cattle dog. I am currently searching for hatching eggs of elegant crested tinamou.
