Hello Everyone! New member here.
I've had chickens since I was two years old when my grandfather gifted me my first pair. Since then, he made sure I loved poultry as much as he did. I've been on hiatus from the chicken game due to school and life in general, but now I'm back to the flock. About a year and half ago my partner and I inherited a house and land in the countryside of Puerto Rico. After many long talks, we decided to give it a go and left beautiful Massachusetts. Our property is surrounded by beautiful mountains and amazing views. Best of all, amazing weather all year round. (Not going to lie, I do miss MA everyday) Nevertheless, happy to be on this adventure. Since day one I noticed all my new neighbors had chickens and I desperately wanted to start my flock. They definitely are my kind of people and made me feel right at home. As of now, I haven't started my flock since I'm still working on converting an old shed into a chicken coop. My elderly neighbors are all excited. Due to the nice weather here they said I could just build a run for shelter and let them free range since we don't really have any predators in the area, but I just want to have my dream coop. Hehe. (Cant wait!!!). However, I do have a pair of Muscovy ducks (Mr. Pebbleton and Rosie) that a friend gifted to me as ducklings about two months ago and five goslings (Spam, Butter and the rest are waiting to be named... haha) I got shipped from a Hatchery in Texas. I'm very excited to be part of this community and looking forward to expand my knowledge of raising poultry with all of you!
