We just moved from FL to NC almost 1 month ago, and boy has it been an adventure. Never in my wildest dreams did we think that we would be in our dream house, in a town we knew nothing about, surrounded by the most amazing neighbors, and now getting started on raising chickens.
We are a family of three, me, my husband and our little Boo who is 3 yrs old. I have a bunny who is 11 yrs old and feisty as ever. We had no idea that our first and only pet to our little one would be chickens, but we cannot wait to get started, and introduce her to a world that most kids do not even get to discover first hand.
I am lucky that our neighbor across the street has 6 chickens and truly was the catalyst to getting us into chickens. She is awesomely nice and has answered all my questions so far. I knew however that I cannot go to her house everyday, (she has 5 boys) and get all the advice I need, so this is why I joined BYC.
I am glad to be here….
