I have three broodies that all started to sit on eggs with in a few days of each other. Two of the broodies have eggs are hatching now. Last time it took about two days until all the eggs in each nest were hatched. Does that sound about right? Can wait to check out the chicks tomorrow.

It always amazes me when I find chicks under the broodies! I mean, I know they are there and its going to happen, but I love it every time! Congrats to you.

To answer your question, 2 or 3 days is about right.

I think 2 to 3 days is normal. The huge Duchess was sitting on took 15 days from start to finish because of the eggs she stole or that others layed in her nest. I finished them in the bator.

My rooster is an Amerauana and my hens are Amerauanas, Rhode Island Reds. Welsummers, Cochins, Black Sex Links, Light Brahma, and Silver Laced Wyandottes. The three Broodies are a Welsummer, Black Sex Link and a Cochin. The eggs were laid by all the Hens. Got to go and check to see if any more have hatched, so much fun.
