About 30-60 mins. after I did the solution and watered down mash, cleaned her rear, it finally got quiet in there. I woke up about 5 am, stood by the door, went in quietly, she was sound asleep. At 9 went in sound asleep. Cleaned the box, put her in front of the water, she started drinking, clean bottom still, peeping quietly. So far, so good! Then she went back to sleep. I'll keep an eye on her for eating, but she looks better....
Put a radio nearby so she can hear it. Keep it on a boring talk show or soft music. This is done in some chicken houses and it calms them down. Keep the volumn low and it should help the stressed baby.
She's resting this morning, so I'm leaving her as is. I had thought of that last night, since the sound of my voice seemed to calm her down. I'll see how she does today. I think the worst is over, now she needs to eat...
Well, she still resting off and on, drinking, with watery poop. No one nearby sells Nutri-Drench, so I'll keep up with the sugar water and watered mash and hope she improves. She's sleeping a lot more, which is good...
I actually order Nutri-Drench online most of the time. I can give you the site if your interested? I give it to all my chicks up to the time they are put outside.
Chickpip, since this is a one-time thing, I'll pass. I can only have 3 in the city, since the other 2 are fine, I'll keep a close eye on her. I'm home this week with spring break, so she'll get lots of attention.
