Expanding diet from starter feed

I have 8 almost 5 week old chickies that have only had starter feed and some kefir. Can I start giving them veggies if I also buy chick grit? Their coop is half done. They are still in a big tub on the porch.

Yes, that should be fine. I have done it many times and have had no problems. Chicks are pretty hardy.
