The waiting is tortuous isn't it? Aaaaargh! I can't wait for you to experience the hatching! My 4th pipped this morning & still hasn't zipped yet. Waiting.....

I candled my eggs last night, day 4 and they appear clear with something at the top 25% can anyone tell me what this means? This is my first time candling and I didn't see any photos on all of the threads that look like my eggs look?

Ok, got humidity up to 66% and got a baby chick at 5:50 this morning!

Hubby and I watched it pop the top off! SO amazing! Got 2 more pipping. Will post pics tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for all your help Sally! Good luck Jmanvanatta! How are your eggs doing? Any changes?

BTW, I've got the proper toolbar on the Mac, just not on the iPad.

I candled my eggs last night, day 4 and they appear clear with something at the top 25% can anyone tell me what this means? This is my first time candling and I didn't see any photos on all of the threads that look like my eggs look?

its early.... I only candle day 7.... did you look at the candle part of the hatching 101 article in my sig?? its interesting!

Hey yeah I did on there I saw veins starting at like 72 hours thats what had me worried as mine all appear to be clear I've read that thread probably 50 times the last week LOL! I will candle again at day 7 and hopefully see SOMETHING. Should I not give up though being its my first time unless the eggs stink?

I had 4/5 hatch all on Tuesday! Yippee! Unfortunately, pics didn't turn out. Did an eggtopsy on #5. Looks like it died during the last several days of development. Dunno why. Looked normal. Still had a mass of yolk to absorb, though. Very interesting.
3 Dorking eggs left in 'bator due to hatch Sat. or Sun. Candled just before lockdown - all alive & kicking! Weeeee!
Now I know why folks get addicted to this! Fascinating stuff!
Going to have to stop after the 3 cause I have 28 chicks coming from a hatchery in April.
A special thanks to Sally, for if I hadn't seen that link she posted, my 4th chick might not have made it! Excellent research you have done. A great resource! There should be a permanent tag for it in this section!
