Eek! They're here!!!
I dropped off my son for school this morning and 8 and almost drove by the post office to check, but decided not to. Drove back home sadly thinking that they must be coming tomorrow since it was after 8 and no phone call. I started getting my daughter ready for preschool and I got the call!!!! I could here the chickies peeping in the back ground even
I rushed around like crazy to finish getting my 4 yr old ready for school and getting my toddler dressed and ready to walk in to the po with me. I took them both to the po with me because they were soooo excited. We opened the box there and all 11 little ladies were peeping and hopping like mad! Yeah!
We took them to my DD's preschool class to show off (one fiesty lady, a golden laced wyandotte) kept jumping out of the box and all the little preschoolers were SO amazed! Then we (my toddler DD and I) went back home and got them under the heat lamp. Dipped each beak in water as I took them out of the box. My 3 EE chicks (now 3 weeks old, looking HUGE next to the babies) ran around scared out of their wits! They stayed huddled in the corner as far away from the chicks as they could and they screamed (peeped) any time a little fluffy baby wondered over. Goofy ladies. DD and I sat and watched them for about 45 minutes and I snapped a few pics (I'll post later), and now I'm letting them rest and get settled in. I saw all of them eat, but haven't seen any drink yet, so I'll definately be watching that.
