Expensive, but looks pretty good (pre-made coops)

They look like reliable materials I'd trust and HOORAY for them for being an American company, BUT I spent $3K to have my coop built and it 1) fits my needs and the space I had available, 2) it's made from the high grade materials I selected, 3) it's truly predator-proof extending down into the ground around it and 4) it holds a lot more chickens with much more space for them to be stress-free within. I can also stand up straight and move around in it with my flock.

Now I couldn't build a mailbox post if I were expecting a check for a million bucks any day now so the largest part of my expense was the labor of the carpenter I hired. I think if people needed to buy all new materials, as I did, and invested a third what I paid and some of their skilled time, they could have a freakin' chicken mansion that would be a one-time expense and that fit their needs nearly forever! Naturally, something smaller or adapting available materials would make it far more affordable yet.

But if someone didn't want the job of locating the right plans, etc. this might be just the ticket. I assume there's some serious assembly though.

Yes it's a bit of assembly, especially if you're not particularly handy like me. Even for the little one we bought (which they said could be built in an hour) it took us 2 days, maybe 4 or 5 hours total. Then again I think we assembled at least one part upside down and another in the wrong spot, and I dropped and broke a piece (and the company immediately sent out a replacement, no charge) and my hubby is SO slow at actually attaching stuff because he has to read the instructions 3 times at every step, so yeah it took longer than I expected.
