I Don't Remember
I have heard someone saying that they were selling their bantam chicks for $10 a piece. I was wondering what kind of breed would sell for that price. What breeds can you sell for a good amount of money and where?

The prices vary lot by breed but also with quality. You are going to pay more for a chick from a show quality small scale breeder than from a hatchery. I paid $10 for a polish chick and $25 for a silkie but both were breeder quality and the price included a guaranteed that I could return the bird and try again if it turned out to be a roo.

Mainly rare and high quality breeds, not me though. $3.00 a piece depending on rarity. But thats nothing. I have a Lemon Blue OEGB rooster that cost me $150.

We breed Jubilee Orpingtons, and they could go for $1000 dollars a piece, because they are so rare.
I paid $230 (yes, $230! I had to save up for forever!!) for a Tolbunt Polish rooster.
Sebrights are rare to see where I live unless you order from a hatchery. There's only one breeder of Sebrights I know of around here... and his Sebrights go for $15 a piece. We have 4, so I had to pay $60!
Oh, and don't get me started on those Crèvecœurs! To late. Billy, our Crèvecœur roo, was a ridiculous $50!

I have seen banties go from anywhere from1$ up to 15 $ at a auction. I had a few that i sold in Rogers Ohio and they went for 4.50$ a piece. Two dutch pullets (self blue and light brown) that i had bundled with a size A Serama cockerel.

It often depends on what is available in the area. I've noticed that Lavender Orpingtons, Black Copper Marans and Blue Laced Red Wyandottes used to cost $10+ around my area, but this year they are rarely over $5. I'm guessing more people have them now so they aren't such a novelty. Of course you can always ask more for (and in my experience instantly sell) even the more common breeds when they come from good quality breeder stock.

Yep, Lav Orps and BLRWs are about $15 a piece in my area... And BCMs are ridiculously expensive. That's why I don't have any :(
The rare breeds chicken breeding farm down the road is a God-send... or else I wouldn't have Lav Orps or BLRWS...

All that sounds about right, based off of my calculations, i have invested a good $35,000 in chickens alone. And my dad said this wouldnt be a successful business..............

this is the $150 rooster.
