I hatched a batch of chicks that I'd like to keep back a couple pullets from. They're day olds. I have experience vent sexing ducklings and gamebirds, though I know they're somewhat different. I tried all of these chicks and none of them look like boys to me, so I must be doing something wrong. Are there any experienced vent sexers on here that can look at my photos and give me their thoughts?
I'm guessing there aren't any vent sexers on here but thought I'd try anyway. Thanks.

I'll post the pics just in case anyone has an idea or as a reference.

*Disclaimer, I am not an experienced vent sexer*

That being said, I do remember reading that they look for a bump and I think that those are boys. Not 100% positive but since no one else has commented, I'll offer my opinions.

I think that 1 might be a boy. 2,3,4 don't seem to have a bump, but 1 looks like it might.

However, that 90% guarantee hatcheries have is because some males don't have a visible bump and some demales for some reason will have a small one.

What are you seeing that's the bump? I couldn't see any difference, lol. I have more pics of #1 I can post too if that would help.
I thought it was an internal "bump" they meant, but maybe not?

The last 3 seem to have a smooth bottom to the vent, but the 1st doesn't have quite same smoothness. I'll try to edit a picture and post it after work
That's interesting. Thanks!
Here's a couple more pics of chick #1.
