Hi all,

I have a 5 week old "silver-laced" wyandotte. She is all black with the exception of her head. Plus, her legs are dark, not the yellow I've seen in pictures. Shouldn't she have the lace by now?

Do you think the guy at the nursery gave me a different breed?

I'll try to post a pic...

Thanks,

Tim

A picture would definitely help...

She is very noble looking! I'll have to take pics of my Gold lace wyandotte chicks now! One has a gold head, the others all look about the same and one, the youngest is the one I breathed life and massaged life back into her after she arrived frozen.

Aaahh!! I can't wait until mine are lace feathered:) I told the neighbor how they'll be beautiful when they're fully grown and how I think they look kinda funny right now but she thinks they're beautiful right now!?! Have a meeting for work tonight but its midnight sun season so should get pics posted tonight:p They love playing outside and are my youngest chicks excepting for the banties.

Okay, here is the pic of my 5 week old supposed silver laced wyandotte (7 week old australorp of the left). I think she might be an australorp ... any thoughts anyone? Shouldn't the laced feathers have appeared or can that take awhile?

Thanks!

Tim
