Explosions heard at nuclear power station at Inverkip on the river Clyde Scotland

Has any one heard of this?it happened at 8 pm bst. Been told it was a controlled explosion and they have been working down there on something for months. But no one who lives in the village next to was warned. Real scary some thought their roof had collapsed then noticed other residents running outside.
I'm not far enough away and am a bit worried.
Would they have a controlled explosion at a power plant and not warn those living close?

WORKER Slightly Injured In Explosion Incident At Inverkip Power Station

A WORKER has been slightly injured after an explosion incident at Inverkip Power Station. The blast shook houses, and residents ran into the streets to see what had happened.

Police confirmed at 9.15pm that they are at the power station making inquiries. They said the incident was self-contained with no danger to residents.

They could not confirm if the incident involved a planned explosion related to demolition that is happening at the site.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said they had not been called to any incident in the area.

Neighbours ran out into the street to see what had happened after the sound which shook people’s houses around 8.15.

One resident wrote on Inverclyde Now’s Facebook page: “All my neighbours [were] out in the street wondering what it was. My whole house shook.”

Another said: “I thought something had fell through my roof, ran upstairs but then noticed everyone outside, pretty scary.”

My cousins house shook and I've heard that pictures were shook off of someone's walls. Just a quick note though, inverkip station is/was oil fired never nuclear so no need to worry about that at least.
 
I thought it was part of Hunterston. That's nuclear isn't it?

It's a relief to hear inverkips not nuclear. I wouldn't want two headed chicks or anything like that :eek: lol
