What did you do in the garden today?

What did you do in your garden today?

I picked a bunch of Rattlesnake green beans and Cherokee wax beans, a few tomatoes, three eggplants, some broccoli shoots, and jalapenos. Pretty happy with today's harvest!

I knelt in chicken poo (accidentally of course) and ruined my light blue fluffy track pants! 😳🤣

I finally got the second lavender bed trim on. This was tuff, grandma crawling on the ground no matter how fit,, its not good. Its not perfectly straight due to putting steaks in and dogging rocks,,, but is it better than it was. now I should be able to weed trim and mow without killing my lavender.

I have all of these in each bed Planted them summer of 22 and added more last week.. The ELLAGANCE ones have proven to be tough to grow. They dont sell the pink anymore so I had to add 2 white (Snow) I also added to each bed, 3 BANDERA DEEP ROSE and filled in a few purple ellagance that died.

Lavender. *sigh*. Adore it, can't grow it to save my life. Tried pots, extra drainage, partial shade, no shade, limited water, raised the Ph. Nope. It hates me and just dies. I've come to the conclusion it's probably the humidity, but there's just not a whole lot I can do about that.

Tied up a few indeterminate tomatoes. "Wove" the indeterminate ones and stuck the sweet potato slips in the bed- "Organic" Purple Majesty and "Organic" Covington. The instruction sheet that they sent said at least two nodes and two leaves, but I had to take what I could get and one of them has no leaves. Plenty of nodes though and even after just a day and a half in some water pretty much all of them were starting roots. The sheet also said shade if it was hot but if I can't find the shade cloth they may have to take their chances with that as well. After several decades of on and off gardening I have a pretty laissez-faire attitude toward it all.
