Hi there,

I had a lethargic chicken in the run this morning. We put her in isolation and offered electrolytes. We did an exam and noticed her abdomen was very squishly. I was worried it was water belly (she is 3 years old), but I wanted to rule out that she was egg bound. We did a gentle internal exam and I couldn't feel the egg, but it resulted in an explosive release of poop everywhere after I pulled away. Honestly, it was quite dramatic. Poop was runny and green - not healthy. I cleaned her off and put her in a dark warm place to rest. She is drinking well but not eating much. Any thoughts on next steps for the morning or thoughts on what would create such an explosion?
