I heard noise outside, which sounded like the “egg song” so I peaked my head outside and when it went silent I went back inside. I heard the noise again and we ran out and saw a raccoon nearby the coop. The raccoon had attacked one of my roosters, feathers were everywhere. We took care of the raccoon, so it won’t be a problem anymore. Our roosters left wing is basically gone, there’s broken bones on what’s left of where his wing was.

We don’t know what to do!

I agree with @nuthatched. If you want to post pictures to see if he can be saved that’s ok too but you need to consider what his life will be like if he does heal and how much time you are will to invest in his care now and after.

I had a hen attacked by a raccoon and although she didn’t have any visible injuries I actually scared the raccoon off her so I know she was hurt somehow. She was never quite the same and that attack was the turning point. I always suspected there were internal injuries or some kind of bacterial infection from a wound I didn’t find. The injuries you can actually see on your rooster might just be the tip of the iceberg.

Separate him and give him some electrolytes or sugar water for shock. A wire dog crate is good, and food and water may be placed in it. Spray his wounds with saline or a wound spray, and then apply antibiotic ointment twice a day. Plain triple antibiotic ointment is good. Do you have any pictures? Can the rooster stand and walk?

I agree with @Eggcessive, if it's cold where you are, move him to a warmer area as well. We really need pictures in order to assess and give better advice. If there are bones exposed then an oral antibiotic might be necessary as well. While they can, and often do, survive and heal from some really serious injuries sometimes, with the proper treatment and care, there are some that are beyond helping. And some would leave them with little to no quality of life. So seeing it would really be helpful.
