My 8 week old chicken has sour crop. Treated her for 5 days in her own area. The sour smell from her beak and throwing up chunks finally went away. It got miserable hot and I felt terrible keeping her away from her friends so I let her back in with them even though her crop was still a little full. Yesterday she was eating ALOT! When I felt her crop it was really mushy and hard in there. I gave her a lot of water (most of which she drank on her own), a little bit of olive oil and massaged it. All of the contents went down but she still had water in her crop. I figured it must’ve came back, so I made her throw up (I know it’s advised not to) and it was all clear and smelled like the ACV water she’s been drinking. This morning she still has a crop full of water but is eating and pooping on her own, not very abnormal stools due to the weather. I was observing her in the run today and she was laying down. When she got up she gagged a little, probably from pushing on the crop. It’s very full and I feel like she has so much pressure on her abdomen. I’m a new chicken mom, not sure what’s going on with her.. need help!
