External Nesting Box Questions

I will have 5-6 hens and was thinking about two boxes. Is that too few? Is three better? Also how high above the floor of the hen house do you place it?

2 should be enough. I heard somewhere that 1 nesting box is good for 3 chickens.

Two will do fine but three wouldn't hurt. As far as height is concerned, what ever is comfortable for you... just make sure they are lower than the roost.

I would go for three, because odds are you will have 10 chickens in a year

I had nine hens in my old coop with three boxes... all three boxes got used. Now I have 8 hens in the new coop with four boxes and all four get used, daily. Could probably get by with less but if they use them, why not.
