I have an issue that I do have a slight suspicion it might be Mareks although the symptoms do not match. I have had 3 birds now(from several years old, to 6 months old) to have a large tumor like on their body. It ranges in size from a walnut to about a half a hockey puck. It is usually the shape of a hockey puck with a indentation in the middle. Two of the birds had it on their neck, the other on the wing. The first time I found one on the older bird I removed the tumor and it actually grew back. It is not attached to the bone or muscle structure but seems free floating on the skin surface. They did not die a natural death from it as I put them down after watching how it didn't get better. No other signs other than this growth. Two of the birds I hatched myself the other came from a top breeder in this breed. Two were cochins and one was a New Hampshire (all bantams). None were Mareks vaccinated. I did not post them so I do not know if they had tumors internally but did not show signs of illness as they ate and acted normal except for the growth. There was no signs of infection as the growth was hard, no seeping and appeared to not cause pain to the birds. Any help would be appreciated. I have a flock of about 50 birds and they are all taken care of as good as anyone can.
