Ihave 2 broodys, one sitting on eggs, one siting on her egg, and I got 5 other eggs and one has not laid yet ( she is a copper maran that never lays anything but a chocolate egg ). Is it possible for a Iight brahama who just turned 18 weeks old ? It is a real light egg, but it's huge. Of course she is one huge bird. I have suspected she has been laying but never catch her as I work until 12:00 sometimes until 2:00 .can an 18 week old light brahma lay at this age and it be so big? All my other girls are pullets also and lay small eggs still, and my one big girl laid before I went to work as I grabbed it from under her. Leaving only the maran to lay still. Which by the way, the maran lays super giant eggs from the start also lol.

Probably the only way to tell for sure is see who is the chicken to produce the egg. You have two improbabilities right? Either a light egg from a hen who lays chocolate color, or a very large egg from a pullet. I'm going to guess large from pullet.

In a few days you will probably know for sure.
