extra protein for poorly gander?

I think you're right not to transport George at the moment and just wait for your test results for Mycoplasma as this would fit the clinical picture you described. Hopefully the Tylan treatment will start to be effective.

hey all, thanks for all the comments, things are good here. i kept waiting for him to get worse, he didn't!!

mildred remains unaffected.

he still seems slightly 'out of breath' when exerted. but the chickens have stopped sneezing, and even laid an egg today. the first ever we have had (they were rescue ones).

i am sooo glad its a happy ending, i was really worried for a while.

lab results are still not back, hopefully tomorrow. would just be nice to know what caused all this!

thanks again to all you caring lovely peeps.

So happy to hear he's no worse and Mildred is unaffected. Congrats on the egg and hope you get many more. Please keep us updated on George, I think we've all grown to love him.

hopefully i will be lucky and not have another outbreak for a while, as these birds are pets and not selling hatching eggs etc. will just keep a closed flock.

i have read about denagard treatment so may keep some of that on standby, in case.

as for george's progress, well i think he has had enough of that being rested lark. saw him and the whole flock, today right at the end of the track that they roam. when they heard me coming they all ran / flew to me for food! i had to laugh, the geese had the wind behind them, wings stretched out trying to 'fly' to me, looked more like walking on the moon. i think he is feeling better

wish i had got a picture of it!
