Chickendad returned from a couple hours on the road to be greeted by some of the girls looking for tasty treats on the bumper! They also like paint chips off the garage—tell me again why we buy really good chicken feed???

That should help. The paint (especially if it is from a while ago) may have lead in it and that would be very, VERY bad for them, possibly resulting in death.
