What do you all do with Extra Roosters? We have 5 from a hatch of 8.
We are giving one to a friend and probably keeping one ourselves to replace the older rooster.
Our plan is to probably eat the others but how do you go about raising them? as 4 roosters in a coop wouldn't be a good thing.

Actually we were able to raise about six roosters together When they were chicks that we hatched with their father. Occasional small sqable broke out, but I think since they had plenty of food and space (We don't really have a large run so we let them just wanted the yard) they didnt mind. Just put saddles on your hens to help them not get hurt from all the testosterone. You could also try rooster leads if your space is big and safe enough and you know if they're allowed

Until their hormones start to come on about 16 to 20 weeks old, they should be fine together. If your wanting a tender frying chicken that is the time to butcher. If you want them to get older separate them into a bachelor pad away from the other birds. May have a squabble or 2 but mist times will get along fine with each other.

I just keep them with the flock until about 14-16 weeks.
Still tender enough for the grill and before they start causing too much havoc.
