Since they're house chickens, I would give them an extra boost of vitamins that ranging chickens get. You can give them Poly-vi-sol with no iron. Give .5mL of Poly-vi-sol per quart of water. You can find Poly-vi-sol at drugstores like Safeway, CVS, etc.

Okay, what form does it come in? I have red cell I was giving them for showing and for keeping them fit through this very cold winter. Would this not be good since it has a lot of iron? I give it to my outdoor chickens once a week, just a small amount in their food.

I know chicken folks always says to get polyvisol pediatric drops NO IRON, so I would think giving them 'red cell?' with lots of iron would be a bad thing. Do chickens even need iron supplements if they are not anemic??

Since chickens are such small critters, too much iron can be toxic to them. There's already iron supplemented into their feed.

A little red cell go's a long way, as for using poylvisol I have never used it just because there are far better products out there that are for poultry use.

I myself use Rooster Booster Poultry Cell, http://www.roosterboosterproducts.com/product/50401

Thanks! I checked over the difference between red cell and poultry cell when I got it and I think it was the same but the red cell was a better value for the amount.

Beautiful comparison! Would this be recommended to be given to chickens that don't get to free range?
My chickens are in a large horse stall with windows but again do not get to forage, they are fed Purina SunFresh Layena and SunFresh Flock Block that has oyster shell and grit.
