Hello, I have 2 SF and they are being bullied also. I have 15 hens and a rooster of mixed breeds. Is this what your SF look like from being bullied? Mine are so docile and do not stand up for themselves which I did read is typical of the Salmon Faverolle breed. 😞

Yes! Exactly like the photos. What did you do to help. It’s terrible to see

Keep doing it until its successful. Eventually your chickens will think they just taste bad, even without the purple stuff.

Thats what I put on my faverolles
Thank you .. I will keep the process up. Hopefully it stops 🙏

You say "plenty of room" but exactly what is that? Free range?
If not free range, measurements please.
I adopted 6 production hens a couple years ago and got a feather picker in the bargain. I put pinless peepers (about $13.00 from Amazon) and 6 weeks later took them off and she had forgotten about feather picking.
Production hens are commonly kept in close confinement with nothing to occupy there time and picking at each other is there only option.

food is at 16 percent layer crumble
In my book 16% protein is too low for laying hens and might lead to nasty feather picking habits as they will try to get the missing amino acids this way.
Try feeding them an all flock raiser 18-20% protein with dishes of oyster shells and grit always available.
They might lack some animal protein also, and you could try to give them some grated carrots with curd cheese and brewers yeast.
would you call bald heads and throats extreme bullying.. or should I just let it all happen and hopefully things change? I think there are a couple of bully’s that come at them.. so I can just weed one out either
Never just let these things go on to happen. These bald heads will soon lead to cannibalism and you will have to cull your whole flock.
