Holy cows! Feathers everywhere.... I just thought I'd share a couple pics I snapped this morning. I have never seen one of my hens molt this bad. This lil gal came from Premier Silkies and normally has a baseball sized crest. She looks more like a porcupine right now. I just pulled my hens from the roosters last week to start prepping them for the fall shows. Looks like she might be ready by then.

She's just at a year and a half right now. I get some that molt in sections, but I've never had one that just totally dropped all their feathers like this before. Its always my luck that they tend to do it about 2 weeks before the shows. We've been in the 60's at night and pushing 70's during the day only. All the birds are a lil early this year.
