Hi there all.

Last year I got six chicks.
In Jan. 14, My baby Sexlink Isadora was injured by a hawk. She had a deep wound right between her neck and shoulder area, and she was screeching.

We put her down right away.

But...Now I think about it...

Should she have lived? If I have done something, could she have lived?I feel so guilty, I feel like I didn't give her the best life, I feel like I could have saved her and should've done more then just put her down.....

You assessed the situation and made what you believed to be the best decision at the time. It can be hard not to second guess those decisions afterwards because you forget the reasons why you decided what you did.

I have done the same thing as you have. You need to ask yourself the question whether you think you would have put her down if you didn't believe it was best for her. I doubt you would have made that decision without plenty of thought and anguish.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Every occurrence is a chance to learn and grow. I have my fair share of regrets, but I probably would have done the same things if I went back and relived those moments.

I...I want to say something but I can't, I don't know what to say.Thank you, Oldhen.

There is no point to second guessing. You spared her suffering. Good for you. You could have taken her to the vet and spent an enormous amount of money and then she could die anyway. Don't sweat it.
