Does anyone have an Idea when I went out to feed yesterday one of my bobwhite quails was hanging around by it self. I reached into the cage and picked it up well when I went to get it she just stayed there and let me pick her up which is not normal. When I got her she started to kick then I look at her and noticed that her right eye was shut it looked like her bottom eyelid was closed and covering her entire eye and leaving her blind in it. I looked it over pretty well it does not look like she was pecked there or I saw no signs of infection, no crusties around it or anything it just appears her eye is closed. Does anyone have an idea about this and is it something I should be worried about. Health wise she looks fine and she was plenty strong yesterday it was all I could do to hold her in my hand.
Thanks

I would separate her and put her under a heat lamp. Clean the eye with a moisten Q-tip, if the eye opens, and she closes it again, it could be that there's something that it's irritating the eye. Try to rinse it well and hopefully that works. Otherwise, I'd suggest to get some Gentamicyn drops and put it in her eyes twice a day for 5-7 days and hopefully that works.

Please keep us updated.
