I received her as an 18 week pullet two weeks ago, commercial bird. I notice 3 days ago her eye was closed and she wasn’t moving much. Picked her up, brought her in the house. I feel she wasn’t able to eat or drink, I would say she was getting dehydrated. I looked in her eye and couldn’t see anything, no swelling, nothing in the eye. She has been scratching it and rubbing on her feathers. I treated her with ivermectin in case she has eye worm. Yesterday she kept her eye open and seemed better. I had made her a collar a few days ago which she hates and I took it off, she is eating well and drinking. I tried treating her with liquid drops of old antibiotics and did an eye flush with eye drops for dry eyes. I noticed its now looking cloudy, I am concerned it might be starting to ulcer. Any suggestions, I am in Canada and basically can’t buy anything thats medicine. Her poops are good to, she seems healthy other than this issue, I suspect injury.

For rinsing, I use saline solution. Terramycin is an antibiotic for eyes. I would get it and put it in her eye twice a day just in case an infection is starting.

Is she the only one you got from there? Just curious if the others have something too.

She's not sneezing or showing any other respiratory issues?

It could be an injury and should improve, but I'd watch it in case it starts to worsen.

Hopefully, she'll be good as new soon!

I went on Amazon and it will take over week or more to get Terramycin. Actually our postal is on strike. I can’t get it anywhere else. The other hens are fine. She hasn’t laid yet and no other health issues. Her crop is fine, her poop is normal. I have had hens in the past with crop issues and its definitely not that. Her eye is bothering her.
