Eye Issue…. My neighbor’s chicken

This chicken is not mine…. But it is such a sweet girl and I want to help my neighbor get some help for her. She does not have any other lesions anywhere on her body Including inside her mouth. She is eating but is lethargic and is rubbing her eye raw.

The yellow scabs on her wattles look like fowl pox, so that may be what is also affecting her eye and face. I would put some Terramycin eye ointment (available in some feed stores) or plain Neosporin ointment into her eye twice a day. A third suggestion would be Vetericyn eye gel or eye wash. If there is any pus or drainage in the eye, flush it out with saline or eye wash.
