Eye Issue in a hen PLEASE help!!!

I have a young hen that has an eyelid issue. She keeps it closed most of the time and it is red aroung her pupil and surrounding the eye. I read it could be from cock roach problems. Does anyone know of a remedy to control cockroaches around the coop? We get irrigation so there are always sewer roaches in the area. Or does anyone have any other ideas of a cause?

I would think using some food grade diatomaceous earth in and around your coop/run should help?
