I have a easter egger chick that keeps pecking at my Welsummer chicks eye. I’m only worried because the Easter egger only picks on Welsummer and when she does peck at her, the Easter egger has a nice grip and she even shakes as if she’s pulling/tugging on her eye lid. I have been keeping a close eye on the Welsummer and I’m starting to see a welt on her left eye.

I’ve already separated the Welsummer for her to not get picked on for the time being, but I feel bad cause she’s all alone. Any help or suggestions Would be great!

What is your setup, sounds like there bored. You can try these toys to distract them! Are they the same age? Can they see each other through the separating box? That would be best. Not seeing each other is only gonna make integration harder in the future, because since they can't see each other, they will act as if they have never seen each other before. Hope this helps! Avery:)

They are only 3 days old, but thanks for the suggestions.

Man, I feel your pain. I have an eye pecker hen and she goes around pecking everyone's eye. She flew up on my shoulder ones, looked at me and turned her head and pecked me in the eye. We call her peck-eye. I had a barred rock get an infected eye and loose her eye sight. There is a thread. I feel like there is not much I can do as she does it to everyone. Saving grace the new little roo is madly in love with her and she is too busy now to peck many eyes 🤣
Good luck with your little eye pecker.
