The one gosling might need to go to the vets to see what is wrong with the eye. I have had geese for 6 years and have never had an eye like that..... Looks like it will need medicine to put in that eye. I could be wrong. The crooked foot the gosling needs more time on water to help correct the foot more. It is also not good to keep goslings or geese on wire causes problems with the feet. Too flat of surface can cause problems as well.

Hopefully other with more experience with things like this will chime in.

The eye problem looks like an infection of the inner eye lid - I've seen something similar in chickens (it may not be but that's what it looks like from your photo). If it is it will need antibiotics.

If you go for home remidies a weak tea solution (made from a tea bag or tea leaves (no milk) may help. It is very effectve on conjunctivitis.

Also if you can get to TSC they carry Veterycin spray get some and start spraying the eye with it. It is great for infections and wounds so really good to have on hand and will be less expensive than a vet visit,. And if there is something under the eye lid will help to wash it out. Still might need a round of antibiotic but I'd hold off till you see if the Veterycin works. Also saline eye wash or Terrimycin eye salve [feed store] or try tillyita remedy.
Have you checked your goslings foot to make sure it doesn't have bumble foot[something in the foot causing infection] could be thorn or a cut. I would offer a kiddy pool so it can have water therapy.

Thanks for all the insight. Just got the goslings yesterday. I will take a deeper inspection today. I don't believe it is bumble foot. I am going to set up a pool for the one with foot problems this morning. I have them in a small cage just on the grass. I got thinking last night could the eye be from getting bit by another goose? The lady said the older ones were harassing the two little ones.

Most likely that is it then but hopefully with some TLC they will be good as new in no time. Maybe just use plain table salt and some warm water and soft wash cloth and try rinsing out the eye real good.

Believe it or not that water therapy did a lot for the poor gosling. It's walk is much better than it was. I am thinking about putting a hobble on his legs though. I think it has splayed legs. The one with eye problem looks like he must have been picked on by someone else. Do we are using terimicin on it. This forum is awesome so much help! Any other ideas are always welcome.

You can get terrimycin eye ointment at feed stores and yes use it for the eyes. just make sure what you use doesn't have pain relief in it, that's a no no for waterfowl, well fowl period. Glad to hear it's leg is already better. keep up the good work!

We have terrimycin here but can only get it as an aerosol or a powder. Any idea how to turn the powder into an ointment?
