I purchased a Yardman Plucker a couple of years ago. It worked well, but on the 2nd use had to replace GFI plug. It really throws a wrench in the plans when things do not work.... After about 10 uses over a couple of years processing 20 or so birds, it's dead. What a pain getting all set up dragging everything out only to find the plucker - will pluck no more. My DH pulled it all apart and said the wires were barely attached probably from the vibration and the motor was dead, he said too much water pouring out made for a hostile environment for the electronics. Thinking I paid 200. I would just go get another but now they are 400.00 and up. I'm not going to go this route again.
So I came in here and started my research for Pluckers and have narrowed it down to the EZ Plucker 131 or the EZ Plucker 151 but would rather not spend as much money on the 151, unless someone tells me I absolutely should.
Do you think I could sell the Yardbird to someone that could use the bones to make a homemade? All that beautiful stainless steel, it kills me that's it's dead. BTW the cost of a new motor was 198.00 and DH said it has more problems, so we won't invest anymore. TIA y'all

I think posting it for sale like craigslist might make you back a good part of what you spent

Thanks Penny, that's a great idea, I never thought of that. I just ordered my replacement plucker, I got the EZ-131, very excited to get it, this from a person that can't do the deed themselves. Quite the investment, but looks like a solid unit.

Hi Alicia, really well, the other thing that I like a lot, is the Yardman dumped the water and feathers directly underneath and you put a bucket with holes drilled into it to catch as much as you could. This unit we were able to bring it into the horse stall to have it closer and the water and feathers are directed out to the side. This was a big improvement as to how we were working before. We pretty much spin one at a time but having the plucker in the stall with us meant it doubled as a wash sink for me, if I needed to rinse a bird. I am very happy so far with the 131 and it is plenty for us and would definitely handle higher volume then we do.
