face and neck swelling

Hi

I have a 8 month old Phoenix roo whose face, wattles and neck are swelling fast. No other symptoms, eating and droppings normal. He does free range during the day. I'm thinking sting or bite. Any suggestions? Can I try benadryl?

ummm that happened to my chick one time and it ended up being pox virus, but that might not be whats going on with your baby. Also I wouldnt use benadrl incats and dogs it causes liver and kidney failure within weeks of taking it I dont know about chickens though but I wouldnt take the chance.
