Is there a way to block or remove someone from fb without them being aware you did it?

On your news feed page....when they post. You have to run your cursor over the to the right of a post and you will see an X click that and it will give you options. This will not delete them but not show their posts on your page. If you don't want them as your friend period I think they will know when you delete them....sorry.

Yeah, I ignorantly let a family member join and they are being a pest.

I don't think they can tell who unfriended them, just that your friends num goes down, but if they try to message you, or like or comment. I think they will notice, if you want I can friend you, then drop you and you can see what happens?

I think I am stuck. If I unfriend them it also removes me from their list.

I guess the best I can do is block them so I don't see their post.

You want to "hide" them, not "block" them. If you block them, they will not be able to see anything you do either and they will be aware that something isn't right. Hiding makes it so you won't see their posts on your newsfeed, but you can still go to their page if you want to and they can still see everything you do.

Yep! I LOVE the "hide" feature. There are just some people you just need to keep "hidden"...for me, it's those special family members that I do better without having to read their daily dramas played out on FB!
