Facebook friends?

That's cute!

I'm down to people I know personally, and 1 nice lady who plays all the same games I do.

What is truly hilarious is how many of my ex-boyfriends send me friend requests. As I recall none of those ended amiably, so I can't imagine why they'd want to talk to me all these years later.

I'm nosy, so I friended my 14 yr old on youtube so I can monitor what he watches. Mostly he watches "Fred" videos (if you don't know Fred, count yourself lucky!), so it's not a big deal.

ha hahaha i know fred its that dude with the annoying voice.

Ah, Fred. Apparently you have to be a 14 yr old boy to find him funny.

I work with grad students at a university, so I tend to "friend" my students and some of them do become real friends. As for the casual acquaintances/former students, it's nice to stay in touch with them for professional networking reasons. My facebook page is pretty neutral for that reason. You'll never see a picture of me drinking (though I *am* my mid-30s) or super-personal info on there about me.

That said, I'll friend anyone from BYC. I figure if you have chickens, you can't be that bad.

I won't, however, link my facebook page from BYC.

I got a facebook account to watch my children. I put it in my maiden name. Figuring that I haven't used it in 20 years no one will bother me. Well I was wrong all my old buddies are now looking me up. I also made my husband get a account to help with the policing of the children. Now my children call him the facebook monster because he is on all the time. He has formed new relationships with family members that he hasn't seen in 30+ years.

I've been friended by a few of my old high school chums. There was one guy I had a "thing" for; such a horrible crush I couldn't even speak to him. He friended me the other day, which I thought was odd since he didn't know I existed.

It was just shocking to me how many old high school people wanted to be my friend. I still live in the small communtiy in which I went to high school. Some never talked to me then and still don't but they want to be my friend on facebook. Now in the local store they will ask why I didn't accept. My additude is if you didn't talk to me than and still don't, then I don't want you on my friend list. I have upset a few people on this.

I agree 100% with you here. An old frend of mien from junior high tracked me down on FB. We reconnected for about 2 months. All of her posts were basically R-rated, disgusting, and reflective of a lifestyle I intensely dislike. Since I use facebook for professional as well as personal reasons, I un-friended her and have never looked back. We grew apart for a good reason.
