I'm totally new to genetics so forgive me for the novice questions.

Is the white face gene(white face spanish) Dominant ,or recessive?

I would like to develop the white face spanish into other color variety's ,in particular I would like to breed a blue-golden duck wing strain. If you can point me in the right direction, It would be greatly appreciated.

I understood that white face is an extreme selection of white ear.

White ear and red ear are sort of mixed when crossed. You would have a hard time getting the ears either white or red again.
More than one gene involved.

Is it specifically a white earlobe thing or can they(theoretically?) get that "excessive" earlobe in all red?

A WFS in reverse might be an interesting looking bird! White body, black face from Fm.....

I guess huge earlobes in red would be possible.
I can't recall any breeds with red and round earlobes though.
It isn't considered to add any beauty.
Good question.

I have a line of BBRED phoenix, in which I am selecting for more and more white in the face. When there is enough, they will be crossed to another project I am working on. Some of them are also yellow legged, which makes the white in the face more of a yellow.

Here is a picture.

So, the white face is really an earlobe gene?
