Fact or Fiction?

I put clip on peepers on my troublemaker peckers and things totally settled down. I left them on for about a month and removed them and the pecking never resumed. Interestingly enough the peeper girls lost status in the pecking order.

Hey I have a question everyone- Does anyone have experience of letting hens raise their chicks in the main coop along with the rest of the flock? I know there are conditions to wether this would work like number of birds, number of broodies, and how big their pen is, but if you gave the whole flock plenty of room, do yall think this would work?

A lot depends on the broody raising the chicks. I have some that are meaner than any dog when it comes to their littles and others that will run if their chicks get picked on. And I have one or two that will steal chicks from a broody and raise them as their own.

There are just way too many variables to honestly answer the question.

I didnt even start to think about the mothering abilities... My silkie X would beat the tar out of some of the hens while others like an old game hen and a game X giant hen, she would just lower her head and raise sin when they pecked the babies. I swear that old game hen started to like those chicks though, cause sometimes I would see the silkie X and the old game hen foraging with the chicks together.
