Fairly New Chicken/Turkey Keeper

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We had chickens when I was around 11. I didn’t get them again until now, at 33! They’re strictly for eggs/pet purposes. I originally started with 6 roosters. Not the best for eggs, but I’ve learned to not buy straight run anymore!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 11
(3) What breeds do you have? ISA Browns, Polish, Australorp, Sapphire Gem, and two I’m not sure of.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? They’re personalities. They’re so small, but they have big attitudes.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Ancestry, Gardening, Reading

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Along with being a chicken & turkey mom, I’m also a cat lady. I’m a lover of all animals, always have been.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I’ve been researching a lot since I got chickens. New issues always arise and I go to the forums for help a lot.
