My husband and I decided to become chick parents again. We had golden comets some years ago but life got so busy, we had no time. Now that we are empty nesters, we decided to go for it again. With chick prices a bit high, we opted to try incubation. I currently have 33 eggs in the incubator and I'm so excited but anxious. This is a trial run. We bought two dozen barnyard mix at an auction for $9 and we are on day 9. There's so many different recommendations for humidity and my humidity has been 60-75 since day 1 and one website says candle them on day 7, one says day 11-12. So much info but whats correct? The brooder box is built and we're working on the henhouse. I'm interested in wheaten marans and blue copper marans. I hope to learn lots of good information here. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!
